Another side of life

Despite being able to provide blood and platelets to support my low blood counts the doctors have essentially said there is nothing that they can do to help me. This being the case the we are starting to look at different remedies and alternatives and other options for cure. I have no doubt of healing as I still have things to do here! I know He has great plans for me and I refuse to be stopped at this stage. So much going on but I’m feeling great and stronger each day and know that as each day passes and each item of medical paraphernalia is removed, (catheter, oxygen line, Hickman changed to PICC, etc, etc.) life is getting nicer. One of the the things K and I are starting to explore is food detoxification and juicing and eating properly as it relates to cancer. The Crazy Sexy Cancer site is a fantastic site for this and I’m really excited at starting this.

I am of course continuing to feel great and enjoying the freedom of not having a catheter in enormously!

  2. Good Show!

The courage and insuperable spirit that has always been shown by your family and you is nothing short of inspiring.

Here’s wishing you and yours continued and always expanding strength, for the upcoming days and weeks and months and years of your life

  3. After talking with Keith yesterday I spent last night devouring information about food detox and “diet therapy”. Amazing! I stand in awe of your indomitable will. You are constantly in my prayers.

  4. Melaine,

Bob gave me your blog site so I can keep updated on your progress. I have been reading his blog as well. He and I talked today and shared the thankfulness we feel with your progress. Were your ears burning? He said that I should leave a comment on your blog. I have to tell you what an inspiration you have been for so many of us at USF. Your courage and determination through the difficult times of your illness makes your Eleanor Roosevelt quote so fitting. You have been in my thoughts and prayers, and know that I will always be on the sidelines cheering you on with every successful juncture of your journey. It is great to read that you are blogging again and that your spirits are up and your attitude positive. Just remember that we are all here sending our best to you and anticipating the day you return to Fort Wayne and visit at USF. I had to laugh at your blog about the Staff Development Day and the “knobs.” You have to know that I have a “knob” from that speaker sitting on my desk and after reading your blog, it has taken on a whole new meaning! Oh, and I’m sure being free of the catheter is is great!

    Angie

  5. You go girl! I just watched the trailer of the documentary “My Crazy Cancer”. How inspiring! Bob is going to burn it for me so I can watch.
